Danish Crown\u2019s extensive slaughterhouse in Ringsted is now being put up for sale. Ejner S\u00f8by, head of property sales at Danish Crown, says: \u201cWe initially chose to put the slaughterhouse up for sale in a bidding round, but none of the bids we received were satisfactory. We have therefore decided to put the properties up for sale in a standard sale at an asking price of DKK 120 million, with EDC Erhverv Poul Erik Bech continuing to assist us and look after our interests.\u201d<\/p>\n
Helle Nielsen Ziersen, EDC International Poul Erik Bech, says: \u201cDanish Crow\u2019s buildings in Ringsted cover a vast area in a well-located and attractive business park, which has relatively good infrastructure and is relatively close to Copenhagen. It is a historic industrial and manufacturing property that has been an important workplace in the area, and it is now being put up for general sale after several investors had bid in the initial phase. It is rare for properties of this size, location and potential to come onto the market. There are many potential uses, both in terms of new construction on the large site and the use of the existing properties, which have been continuously maintained and upgraded.\u201d<\/p>\n
The total site covers 798,318 m\u00b2<\/sup>and comprises a production facility consisting of 19 buildings with a total built-up area of 69,709 m\u00b2<\/sup> . It is divided across three plots, two of which are undeveloped and account for approximately half of the total area. The property also includes an office building with a floor area of just under 4,000 m\u00b2<\/sup>\u00a0 and several large car parks. There is also a private airfield, as a small part of the site is leased to a flying club with a hangar, runway and an adjacent emergency helicopter facility under the National Emergency Medical Helicopter Service.<\/p>\n Thomas Hansen, partner at EDC Erhverv Poul Erik Bech Vestsj\u00e6lland, says: \u201cIn recent years, Ringsted has established attractive business areas at record speed, where major Danish and international companies have set up shop \u2013 including several large warehousing and logistics operators such as GLS, DSV, Esbjerg Gods Sj\u00e6lland and others, as well as a cluster of machinery trading companies. The area has a strategically important location and stable growth, which continues to make investments in West and Central Zealand attractive.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMost recently, Business Park Ringsted has been established along the motorway, hosting a number of large companies. It is only 4 km from the slaughterhouse to the E20 motorway towards Copenhagen, Roskilde and Funen\/Jutland, and the forthcoming Fehmarn Belt link will place Ringsted centrally in relation to a north-south transport corridor.
