EDC Poul Erik Bech Retains Position as Denmark’s Largest Commercial Real Estate Broker for the Third Year Running
With a total transaction volume of DKK 72 billion, representing an increase of over 35% compared with 2024, 2025 was a strong year for the Danish commercial property market. The key figures for the year have now also been compiled for the Denmark’s commercial estate agents. For the third year running, EDC Poul Erik Bech can claim the title of Denmark’s largest commercial estate broker. A position they have also held for many years in the residential sector.
Poul Erik Bech says: “Our turnover in the commercial sector was DKK 275 million in 2025 – our highest ever turnover and an increase of 16.9% compared with 2024. We saw the same positive trend in gross profit, which stood at DKK 188 million – 19% higher than the previous year. This is the third year in a row that we have achieved the highest gross profit in the sector, which is, of course, extremely satisfying.”
The Danish newspaper Finans has just published this year’s list of the 1,000 largest companies in Denmark. EDC Poul Erik Bech Holding is the only real estate broker to feature on the list of Denmark’s 1,000 largest companies in 2025, ranked 877th with a turnover of DKK 713 million. This represents a jump of almost 100 places compared with the previous year.
Several strong business pillars
Commenting on the 2025 figures for the commercial sector, Poul Erik Bech points out: “This is a result of the many strong business pillars we build on. A few years ago, we sharpened our focus on letting, amongst other things. We also benefit from the fact that many of our dedicated employees have been with us for many years. At the same time, we are seeing increasing specialisation within the sector, with many of our commercial real estate agents having built up strong expertise in specific property types and specialist areas. This enables us to assemble the right expertise for each individual assignment – including across our 21 nationwide commercial centres.”
“In 2025, we saw growth across the various property segments. It was also a very good year for our hotel group, with several major hotel transactions – including the sale of Molskroen in Mols Bjerge and Benniksgaard Hotel on the Danish-German border. At the same time, our camping group achieved the status of the country’s largest camping site broker, with most campsites for sale. That momentum has continued into 2026, during which we have, amongst other things, just brokered the sale of Vikær Strand Camping in Southern Jutland, and we will be announcing further sales of campsites in the near future.”
A strong first half of 2026
Poul Erik Bech expects 2026 to be another strong year for EDC. Poul Erik Bech:
“In the first half of 2026, our turnover has risen by over 20% compared with last year, so we are maintaining our momentum, and our pipeline looks promising for the rest of the year. This is partly due to the fact that, at the start of 2026, we opened a new commercial property centre in Lolland-Falster. At the same time, two other commercial estate agencies have joined our company: Danbolig in Hillerød, which strengthens our position as market leaders in North Zealand, and Engel & Völkers Denmark, which operates nationwide and primarily bolsters our branches in Copenhagen and Aarhus with capital markets, international transactions and lettings. They bring with them an international network and experience of major transactions. All in all, the business has been strengthened, and we are well equipped to continue our growth in the future.”
