EDC Poul Erik Bech expands during the corona crisis

Herning is a growing municipality with almost 90,000 inhabitants. The population is expected to grow by 6.6% towards 2045, which increases the demand for both residential and commercial properties. Following the new acquisition, EDC Poul Erik Bech consists of 62 residential offices, 18 commercial offices, and over 500 employees. The CEO Poul Erik Bech says:

”Herning has been very high on our wish list for many years so this acquisition is something special to us. Therefore, we have been in an on-going dialogue with the 2 owners Niels Kofoed and Ib Schiermer and we are very happy for the outcome. We see great potential both in the residential and not least the commercial area. They are already doing well in Herning and have over 30 years of experience in the city, so we are looking forward to having their skilled employees on board and access to a number of new exciting customers and partners.”

Selling his life’s work

Niels Kofoed from EDC Niels Kofoed & Ib Schiermer A/S began his apprenticeship at EDC in 1982 and got Ib Schiermer as a partner in 2014. He says:

“I bought the EDC store in Herning 30 years ago, so it’s sad to sell my life’s work. However, I had no doubt that EDC Poul Erik Bech would acquire the store the day I was ready to sell. Ib and I have been talking for a while about the future for the agency and we are sure that EDC Poul Erik Bech is the best solution. I am very satisfied to sell a well-running store, where four employees have celebrated their 25th anniversaries and let a really competent company with a solid code of conduct take over. At the same time I look forward focusing exclusively on servicing customers and have less to do with the administrative aspect of running the agency,” says Niels Kofoed, who is selling his share of the company and will work as a consultant for both the residential and commercial areas.
